Lodi woman arrested in Valley Springs

VALLEY SPRINGS — At about 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of a suspicious woman parked in a shopping center located at 55 Highway 26 in Valley Springs.

Upon arrival, deputies reported that they observed an unconscious female in the driver seat slumped over the center console. Deputies made contact with the woman, who identified herself as 36-year-old Rehnee Briggs of Lodi, according to the sheriff’s office.

While speaking to Briggs, deputies reported that they observed drug paraphernalia on the steering column and Briggs was asked to step out of the vehicle.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found stolen mail belonging to more than 16 people and more drug paraphernalia in a sweatshirt pocket, the sheriff’s office reported.

About 23 grams of suspected methamphetamine were found, as well as items that indicated Briggs was in possession of the methamphetamine for sale, several stolen military medals, and stolen military dog tags, according to the sheriff’s office.

Briggs was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of 10 or more personal identifying information, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and receiving known stolen property.

She was booked into Calaveras County Jail.
