ROBERT EUGENE DESCHAMP

Robert Eugene Deschamp peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus, at home with his wife Judy by his side, on May 18, 2023. He was born in Los Angeles, CA. on March 18, 1937 to Edith & Harold Deschamp.

Bob grew up in Downey, CA. & after school enlisted in the Marine Corp. Upon discharge he started his lifelong career as a Union Ironworker. In 1961 he moved to Lodi meeting Judy & her young son Dennis Schumacher. Bob & Judy were married on April 20, 1962 & were blessed with 2 more children David & Lisa. While raising their family in Lodi they added 2 more children to the family, Shawn & Brent, by becoming foster parents. Years later Bob started his business Central CA. Steel Erectors & retired after many successful years. Throughout life Bob enjoyed hunting, gun collecting, camping, owning many different vehicles, movies, scuba diving, reading history & most of all spending time with family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers & grandson Alex Schumacher. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Judy, his sons Dennis (Becka) Schumacher and David, daughter Lisa (Ryan) Reich, grandsons Jason (Brittany) and Tyler Schumacher, Robert Reich & Austin (Emma) & Corey Deschamp, daughter-inlaw Christie Deschamp, granddaughters Rachelle (Greg) Babcock & Courtney (Wade) Fincher, great grandchildren Greyson & Mae Schumacher & Abbigail, William & Harley Rose Babcock & fostered children Shawn (Wiley) Chandler & Brent Wimmer . All of our love is with you until we meet again in heaven!

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on June 9th at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2400 Oxford Way in Lodi, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church & School.
